SESEC IX 8 – 10 November 2010 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The theme of SESEC IX focus on the promotion of local sustainable development by following an integrated approach, and addressing the important role of public-private partnership and the role of the private sector in particular. SESEC is a platform for promoting concrete projects, project consortia, identifying new sources of finance, and for presenting ‘Best Practice’  projects whose positive results demonstrate the benefits of adopting an integrated approach.
GRF Davos CEO Walter Ammann has been invited for an Opening speech on “Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change – The Needs for Harmonization”, where he pointed out the importance of harmonizing the strategies, resources and efforts of risk reduction and climate change adaptation and showed ways on how to link risk reduction with climate change mitigation by combatting land degradation.
